Created for climate change. For tomorrow's necessary generation of homesteaders, and people around the world trying to achieve victory over drought. Created to be your first choice for a high nutrition grain food staple, and a wise foundation for your family's food security seed bank.

The plant structure, including strong single stalks, makes this corn machine harvestable for larger production, whereas Native corn plants don't work for machine harvesting. Its very soft starch makes extra fine flour, famous as the best flavor of all corn.

More exciting than the protein figure is its superior quality of protein for muscle building power. This nutrient dense corn has high amounts of all the rare essential amino acids, making the most balanced protein of any major grain. It is rich in lysine, tryptophan, and methionine, which other corns and other grains are deficient in. Equivalent to a 10–11% meat diet.

Bred from dozens of fast maturing machine harvestable field corns from researchers in North Dakota and Canada, then selected for traits that enable them to survive where modern corns fail in western drought. The plants were pollinating and silking without problems when it hit 106°F for two days. It has resistance to top firing and tassel blast, while commercial corns failed.

For human and animal health — the methionine is critical for chickens.

Homestead Hero gets its protein from a rare but naturally occurring QPM (Quality Protein Maize) gene called Floury 2. US industry was not interested in it because the light weight kernels don't bring in as much money. Dave is the only person in the world who has developed a line of corn using this Fl2 gene, and put it on the market so everyone in the world can have it.
